About 30 nodes in a broad landscape shape only 4 nodes high.

Something worth considering is possibly also the connected nature of  
the graphs. This one has some fairly broad stretched edges. Drawing  
edges would definitely need either
a) scrolling whilst drawing the edge or
b) a facility where you could somehow mark a start and end point  
without having to draw the edge all the way.
