I've seen people at the office I used to work using Visio, though I
never got into it in any big way. I think a lot of these graphing
tools are actually hampered by wanting to conform to the usual object-
oriented drawing tool interface with extensive palettes and controls,
when graphing is more specialized and thus a lot more thought can and
should be put in into streamlining the experience.
Of course, the reality is that a lot of people use Visio, and we need
to be compatible for a lot of people.

I'll have to investigate how well Visio imports SVG, since SVG is a
generic vector drawing format, not a specific graph format. Now if
only Visio 2007 imported dot/gv files...
