Is there some kind of icon/picture/non-verbal convention that makes  
sense to you?

Try to see if you can trigger by starting with one finger and then  
using the other. Or by starting with both fingers at the same time.

Fixed in http://trac.pixelglow.com/instaviz/ticket/5. (Not yet in the  
available download though.)
