Sort of. There's the tooltip attribute which is used in HTML-like  
generation, which I was thinking of using for Instaviz too. So you  
could do a tap-and-hold, much like you can with Safari, to pop up  
whatever was in the tooltips field. I'll have to put this in the  
tickets. However Ryan is right in that even these fields have to be  
attached to something.

Once label editing works, you can just sketch a free-standing box and  
write stuff in it.
