A little more in the defense of shake-to-delete.

1.	It's a deliberate gesture, it's hard to do this by accident.
2.	The shake only deletes the selected item so it's not a large change.
3.	The graph isn't obscured during the action or after.
4.	There is some precedent for this, especially among certain graph  
programs. e.g. Apple's demo GLPaint. Know of any more?
5. 	Only a single hard shake is needed, interferes just enough with  
the workflow I think.

My main worry about shake-to-delete is discoverability. I believe once  
you know how to do it, it becomes very natural though.
